”The Guardian”

Every person is born with one sentence written somewhere on their body that they can never read themselves.

July 16, 2026
“I’d love to be you, Roberto.”

The moment Robbie was conceived…

He was blessed to feel life.

To truly feel.

“Let there be light.”

But…

He has never been light.

He has been darkness.

Never had skin.

Or eyes.

But alive for every second of Roberto’s life.

This being…

Roberto casts a shadow that he does not know.

He feels the ballad of his life.

His breaths.

His sighs.

His lips pressed upwardly into a smile…

Letting his inner joy blossom outwardly.

See…

He doesn’t know every being that steps into the light of life will be marked.

Meant for them to never see in this life of theirs.

Here…

They call me the shadow.

But…

I am more than a shadow.

I am what some would call…

A guardian.

His mark says…

Misery will be his hill to overcome.

See…

He must feel to understand.

When he is parked on the side of the street crying…

Trying…

And trying…

Exhausted…

I feel.

And understand.

See…

Robbie is part of Roberto’s life.

But he is not Roberto.

He is Robbie.

Question

If someone silently witnessed every moment of your life—not to judge you, but simply to experience it with you—what do you think they would love most about being alive?
