I am sitting here in my studio…
Earlier today I was thinking about how I don’t always feel like I fit.
I collect films because of nostalgia.
At a certain point…
it became a way of coping.
Now…
writing has become a little bit of that too.
The prompt asks which book I’d rewrite.
Honestly…
I don’t think I’m good enough to rewrite someone else’s ending.
But…
I would love to expand one.
Years ago, while working valet at a Beverly Hills clinic, I heard someone say that if you read a book a week, it’d make you smarter.
So…
I started reading.
One of those books was The Picture of Dorian Gray.
I remember finishing it in between parking cars.
Looking back…
I don’t think I’d change the ending.
I’d want to know what happened before it.
Maybe an origin story.
Or maybe…
what happened after his death.
The portrait made him immortal.
I always wondered…
what happened when he finally reached hell.
