This is the first time I’ve used something like this to write or sketch on.
It’s the Remarkable pro go e-ink tablet.
I hope it ends up being a good experience.
I’ve never used a device like this before. The feel is definitely different from an iPad. The writing feels smooth so far. I like it.
What I like most is that I can isolate from the noise of my day—family, my mind, and damn notifications.
I’m writing outside Hand & Stone in Culver City.
I decided to treat my mom to a monthly massage and a face cleanse.
My mother has never really been treated like that.
And I include myself as one of the ones who neglected her.
Not on purpose.
Never on purpose.
My mom is using my reMarkable tablet right now—reMarkable Pro Go.
I watched a bunch of reviews on YouTube and finally bought it yesterday.
And then… oh then.
I got home, plugged it in, tried to set it up—and it wouldn’t boot up.
I thought: battery must be low.
So I charged it for an hour.
Tried again.
Still nothing.
Frustration started rising fast.
Again… it wouldn’t boot.
Again—fuck.
I looked it up and realized I wasn’t the only human on earth with this problem.
My first thought was: here goes my shitty luck again.
I’ve always felt like I have shitty luck.
But I think now… we all have shitty luck once in a while.
That’s part of being human.
Human.
It’s ok.

7:05 p.m. — I’m parked at U.S. Bank while my mom deposits her money.
Still messing around with this tablet.
And honestly… I’m impressed.
