“I never want to go back to the desert”

Daily writing prompt
What place in the world do you never want to visit? Why?

Good morning.

It’s April 7th, 10:01 a.m. here in Los Angeles.

Wherever you are—morning, afternoon, night—good morning.

This is my SOS thrown into the abyss…

also known as the internet.

So, a place I never want to visit again?

The desert.

I’ve passed through it before.

As a kid, we drove from here to Mexico and back.

A couple of times.

And every time…

it was miserable.

Hot air.

Hot seats.

Hot water.

The car heating up.

Everything just… hot.

There’s no relief.

No escape.

Just heat sitting on you.

I remember thinking:

how does anyone live here?

If that’s what hell feels like…

that’s close enough for me.

So yeah.

I’ll pass on the desert.
