“No Rocky Montage: Just Reps.”

What do you do when you’re tired of your life… besides move?

Today is Sunday, January 11th, 2026 — 10:15 a.m.

The other day I was tearing up in my small studio/garage. Not because of the world. Because of my life. I’ve been struggling for a long time — a decade of pushing — and it hits you sometimes like, what the fuck?

I’ve done some real things though. I got healthier. I dropped from 206 to 180.2 pounds. I started November 17th, 2025. It’s January 11th, 2026 now. That’s not luck — that’s work.

I had credit card debt and I filed bankruptcy and got it cleared. I still have the big one: the school loan that ballooned to insane numbers with an interest rate near 15%. That process is slow, and I hate slow. But it’s moving.

I went back to school in 2015. Got my AA at community college. Got my BFA in Illustration from Cal State Long Beach in 2022. Honor roll. And yeah — I’m still struggling.

No girlfriend since 2016. I’ve had to grow up in ways I didn’t plan for. And what I’ve learned is this:

After all your crying and complaining, you still have to move forward.

Action doesn’t always feel good. It doesn’t look pretty. It’s not a Rocky montage. It’s real life: emotional rollercoasters, frustration, tired mornings, ugly days.

But you still have to accept all of it.

Because I can’t say “fuck it.” I still want three things:

  • a family
  • my own home
  • and to become a paid artist

So I can vent in my garage if I need to. But when I step outside that door, I have to work. One job, two jobs, whatever it takes. Build the resume. Build the portfolio. Make the sales. Do the reps. Keep moving.

Question:
What’s the smallest next move you can make today that still counts?
