What would you do if you lost all your possessions?
If I lost all my possessions, I think I’d finally get closer to people.
Maybe I’d join food drives or sit outside drawing—let whoever passes by stop, ask questions, maybe even sit and draw with me.
I’d probably read more, not just for pleasure, but to understand.
To break down the tone, the rhythm, the structure—figure out what they meant when they wrote what they wrote.
And I’d probably talk to more women.
Not out of loneliness, but out of curiosity.
I’d ask them out, go to the movies, and when they asked why I didn’t have anything, I’d smile and say,
“I have you.”
