Touching Earth right now.
I’ve been up since 6 a.m.
So, good morning.
Listening to AC/DC, Back in Black. Sometimes a shot of energy for the nervous system is necessary.
Negativity, my good old friend:
You can’t.
You won’t.
You ain’t shit.
Well, I’ve learned that the best way doesn’t make sense.
Feel.
Feel.
Feel.
Then ask yourself:
Do you ever get tired of that shitty feeling?
How tired have you gotten?
If you still complain, get depressed, and never move from that spot, you’re not there yet.
If you get to the point where you say:
Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck.
Welcome.
You might take action and actually mean it.
This works for me.
I am just a dude in South Central Los Angeles selling bags, trying to do something with art.
I went back to school as a shitty student.
Whenever I have a window, I draw or write.
I feel like shit often.
Then I don’t ignore the feeling.
Don’t ignore it.
That gut feeling that hurts.
Cold back.
Warmth all over the body.
A voice telling me:
“You are not shit.”
Then I take action.
Even if it’s small.
Small things lead to great things.
I got that line from the film Prometheus.
Maybe the best way to deal with negative thoughts isn’t to run from them.
Maybe it’s to feel them.
Then move.
💬 Reader Question
What do you do when negative thoughts show up?
Do you fight them, ignore them, or move through them?
