Sitting by the window.
Simba nearby.
Coffee brewing again.
Laptop on the ottoman.
I’m staring at my shelf of Blu-rays and 4K movies.
Physical media.
Something people barely collect anymore.
Question:
What show had the perfect finale?
I don’t know if it was “perfect.”
But one finale that really stayed with me was Dark on Netflix.
German sci-fi show.
I found it around 2019.
And there’s one line that always stayed with me:
“The beginning is the end and the end is the beginning.”
I don’t want to spoil the series.
But what hit me wasn’t just the intellectual side of it.
It was the feeling underneath it.
The idea that we are connected to ourselves across time.
That what happens at the beginning of our life echoes toward the end.
The choices.
The pain.
The love.
The mistakes.
Everything compounds.
And maybe that’s what life is too.
A long chain of echoes eventually leading toward your finale.
I think the show made me realize something simple:
We can help ourselves.
Or we can slowly destroy ourselves.
And over time…
those choices become the story of who we were.
