“I still think about The Matrix”

Daily writing prompt
If you could erase one movie from your memory and watch it again for the first time, which one would it be?

📓 May 9, 2026 — 8:14 a.m.

I actually feel rested today.

That’s new.

Coffee brewing.

Simba in the window.

Quiet morning.

Movie I’d erase from my memory and watch again for the first time?

The Matrix.

I saw it in theaters back in 1999.

At the Glendale Galleria.

I was in high school.

And honestly…

the first time I watched it, I didn’t fully get it.

I remember sitting there thinking:

“What the hell am I watching?”

I understood pieces of it.

But not all of it.

So I went back and watched it again.

That movie messed with my head in the best way.

It was the first film I saw that questioned reality…

but made it understandable.

What if we think we create the system…

but we’re actually living inside it?

What if reality feels so real…

that we can’t even see the code underneath it?

That idea blew my mind back then.

And honestly…

it still does.

Especially now.
