Some things stay in your head longer than others.
7:35 in the morning.
Simba to my right.
Eating before his medication.
Hot tea in my hand.
Coffee about to brew.
I’m thinking about someone who had an impact on me.
About ten years ago…
I was working valet in Beverly Hills.
Depressed.
Lost.
Every day I’d walk past a dealership.
There it was.
A McLaren.
And every time I saw it…
I felt worse.
Like I was nowhere.
So I started watching videos.
Trying to feel better.
Most of them were the same.
Music.
“You can do it.”
Didn’t help.
Then I saw this old man.
Don’t even remember his name.
But he said something that stayed.
“To become something you’ve never been…
you have to do something you’ve never done.”
I sat in my car…
and I cried.
Because I didn’t understand it.
“How the hell do I do that?”
And honestly…
it took years.
But something shifted.
Little by little.
I went back to school.
Got my degree.
Saved money.
Paid off debt.
Lost weight.
Built a business.
Still not where I want to be.
But not where I was.
And I think I understand it now.
Change your perspective.
Then act.
Even if the action is small.
