What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I think about death a lot.
Not because I want it — but because it hurts to imagine losing the people I love.
My mind goes there sometimes, uninvited.
It plays scenes of absence.
But strangely, those thoughts don’t make me cold.
They make me thankful.
Every time I picture the people I love disappearing, I feel a stronger pull to appreciate them while they’re here.
To say thank you a little more.
To look at them and really see them.
It’s a sad thought that keeps my heart alive.
