Listening.

Listening to Under Pressure by Queen — the line “la, la Saturday night.”

Always hits me in a strange felicity way.

The other night I was talking to my mom about how impressive Charlie Kirk is—how he started his whole thing 12 years ago with nothing more than a foldable table and a chair from his parents’ garage, and from that, he built an empire just by talking. That’s crazy. Even if I don’t agree with everything he says, I still find that very impressive.

Today, he filled a stadium with 100,000 people, and there were still more outside. I told my mom that’s inspiring—how one person can do that. Then I got a little emotional, because I started talking about how easy it is for people to distract themselves with TV, alcohol, or whatever else.

I told her I’m going to try going to church every week—or even every day—just to see what’s up. That could be my bar, I guess you could say. LOL.

And now I sit here, thinking…

While my cat snores on my window, overlooking an old dryer and an old washer.

Good, bad, or indifferent—I’m glad when we can try to listen to each other, because in time everything will fade: hate, anger, frustration.

So let’s try to enjoy the ride.
