šŸŽļø A Brief Moment Could Feel Like Eternity

Daily writing prompt
What’s the last movie that made you cry?

August 11, 2026 — 9:16 p.m.

My eyes are sore from looking at my phone and TV throughout the day…

so I’m writing—or at least trying to—with my eyes closed.

I had a good day.

Maybe not the greatest day by any human who reads this…

but it was a good day.

I went to get a facial, and the facial was awesome…

but it wasn’t because of the facial.

It was my attendant.

I’d like to call her Mrs. K.

Blonde-haired, blue-eyed, white woman in her early thirties…

possibly.

Super nice person.

ā€œMy second favorite white person outside of my brother-in-law.ā€

I told her.

She laughed.

She has the wildest stories…

and it was cool.

She went to a music concert near a bridge in East LA. She danced on it and said she could’ve died…

but had a great time.

In a week or so, she’ll be going to the Bahamas for a week.

And her father is a funny racist…

ā€œThat fly is a buggy cholo.ā€

I didn’t mind none of it because we were being ourselves without trying to be offensive.

She asked:

ā€œWhat’s new with you?ā€

ā€œWell…nothing. I’m pretty boring.ā€

ā€œWell, you should have fun. Life is short…well, if that’s your thing.ā€

I laughed.

Like fun isn’t something I’d like. lol.

So yes…

it was fun.

The last movie I cried at was F1 with Brad Pitt. lol.

I know…

a Formula One film.

But that ending…

Spoiler.

There’s a final race, and Brad’s character had talked about being in the zone only one time in his life…

and he had chased that…

but never got there again.

Until the end of this film.

It was relaxing.

There was no sound…

just the whoosh of the car.

Everything seemed to slow down.

It caused me to pause…

and begin to think about how beautiful it would be to take a break from life…

to be so locked in that you leave this reality, even if only for a brief moment.

Because that brief moment…

could feel like eternity.

And most importantly…

a blessing.

Enjoy your day…

or night.

šŸ’ Reader Question

When was the last time you were so completely in a moment that everything else seemed to disappear?

šŸš€ Stay in the Garage

When I write something new—or finish a drawing, a Street Cinema piece, or a Hood Chronicle—I’ll send it your way.

There’s no schedule.

You’ll just hear from me whenever something is ready to leave the garage.
