💬 Question
What’s a moment where you realized you were surviving… but not really living?
⸻
I am sitting in my dimly lit studio.
Only the standing light to my right on.
Set to 20%.
⸻
Alien videos on YouTube.
Si No Te Hubieras Ido by Maná playing.
⸻
And I think that’s when I realized it.
Maybe not fully.
But enough.
⸻
I had been surviving.
Not really living.
⸻
But how do you even know you’re surviving…
when you have no other reference for how life is supposed to feel?
⸻
All I ever heard was:
“Move.”
“Hurry.”
“Get on it.”
⸻
That was my programming.
My software was stuck on that operating system.
⸻
Then I sat there with my eyes closed.
In tears.
⸻
“Why does my life suck?”
“Why do I suck?”
⸻
And then my mind went somewhere else.
⸻
Me as a little kid.
Seven or eight years old.
Bowl haircut.
Sitting at the kitchen table.
⸻
Drawing cartoon characters from my Fruity Pebbles cereal box.
⸻
Nothing in my mind.
No pressure.
No future.
No fear.
⸻
Just focus.
⸻
The day would fly.
⸻
Then life happened.
Like it happens to all of us.
⸻
And maybe the way back starts with one question:
⸻
Are you happy?
And if not…
why?
⸻
Then follow the answer with action.
