“Movies Became My Time Machine.”

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

My favorite hobby has always been watching and collecting movies.

It started in childhood, when asthma kept me home for months at a time.

While other kids played outside, I lived through screens — mostly Disney and action movies, the kind my dad loved.

Movies became my time machine.

When I was nine, I watched the Rocky films with my grandmother, who’s gone now. She was one of my favorite humans.

So every time I hear the theme, or see those training scenes, I feel her presence — that quiet strength, that old warmth.

To me, movies aren’t just entertainment.

They’re memories with light and sound.

A way to visit the people I miss, and the kid I used to be.
