“🔥 Why Not?”

Today’s Prompt

What truth about yourself do you secretly hope is wrong?

August 3, 2026 – 8:45 a.m.

I think…

therefore I am.

It’s a line that occasionally seeps into my mind.

Echoing…

as if a little boy is screaming it into the emptiness…

waiting for the echo.

Always the reverberation of the inner me.

I am sitting outside underneath the canopy.

A new ritual I began this week.

It soothes me.

I want to feel the current slowly move…

as if I were in my own little boat…

relaxing into a new sunny morning.

I often escape into my imagination.

Sometimes because I’m afraid of my decisions.

Sometimes because I want to feel inspired.

And sometimes…

because I like reinterpreting my surroundings through words.

I’ve always felt like a bum.

Never a winner.

I’ve tried.

I went back to school and finished.

I lost 36 pounds.

I’ve saved over $10,000.

I write every day.

I recently started an art TikTok.

And yet…

I often feel small.

This week I caught myself thinking…

“I’m a loser.”

“I have no future.”

“I’ll always be stuck in this garage studio.”

Then…

while driving…

I thought about Mexico.

This year’s World Cup.

More than a million people flooded the streets after every victory.

I looked up the videos.

I watched the people singing together.

The fireworks.

The celebration.

And for a moment…

I felt inspired.

I thought…

Why not me?

Why not believe in myself with that same passion?

Why not stop cheering only for other people’s victories…

and start cheering for my own?

Yeah…

Maybe…

that’s the truth I hope is wrong.
