“The most fun exercise isn’t physical”

Daily writing prompt
What’s the most fun way to exercise?

This year I went to watch Project Hail Mary with Ryan Gosling.

At first it felt long.

Then it didn’t.

Then it got sentimental.

Then it made me think.

That stayed with me.

This morning, I’m drinking my coffee, watching a podcast, and that question comes up—

What’s the most fun way to exercise?

And I started thinking…

For me, it’s not the gym.

It’s this.

Being creative.

It starts small.

Something inspires you.

A movie.

A moment.

A random thought.

And then it just sits there in your head.

You don’t even realize it at first, but your mind starts working on it.

While you’re driving.

While you’re working.

While you’re doing everything else.

You’re moving the idea around.

Shaping it.

Playing with it.

Sometimes that’s the exercise.

Not lifting weights.

Not running.

Just thinking.

And then eventually—

you draw it.

you write it.

you film it.

you build something out of it.

But the real work?

That quiet part during the day…

when your mind won’t let the idea go.

That’s the most fun part.
