“If Peace of Mind Was for Sale…”

Daily writing prompt
What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

The greatest gift someone could give me is peace of mind.

Someone who tries. Someone who doesn’t absorb all your energy because they’re living out their traumas. Someone who takes accountability, carries responsibility, and thinks of others—not just themselves.

Because buying stuff is just buying stuff. You get it, you unbox it, it looks cool, you feel that quick hit… and then it’s done.

But peace of mind? You can’t buy that at the store.

If you could buy peace of mind at a store, they’d charge crazy money.

Question: What gives you peace of mind—actually?

  1. Interesting request but peace of mind is something you can give to yourself. It’s free. I know we have no control over outside forces sometimes but going for a walk, gratitude and a cup of tea or my novela give me peace. I have learned that you shouldn’t let anyone rob you of your peace.

    1. Thank you, Mireya. I love that you said peace can be something you give yourself. What’s your go-to reset when your mind starts racing?

      1. I pause and breathe. I don’t speak and recognize how I feel. I tell myself I will be ok and just breathe. It helps. Silence is golden.

      2. Mireya, I love that. ‘Silence is golden’ is a real reset. I’m gonna try that tonight — pause, breathe, name the feeling, then move. Thank you.
