My favorite cartoon started everything for me.
I was five years old the first time I realized a drawing could become something.
My older cousin sat next to me and asked, “Do you want to draw a character?”
I said yes — not knowing my whole life was about to shift.
She drew a big circle.
Then a smaller one.
Then another circle for the snout.
Two giant circles for ears.
Two ovals for eyes.
Little black dots inside.
A widow’s peak.
A smile.
Boom — Mickey Mouse appeared out of nothing.
I remember thinking, “What the hell… you can just take shapes and make THAT?”
It felt like magic.
After that, drawing owned me.
Shapes felt like spells.
Lines felt like secrets.
And Mickey Mouse became the first magician who opened the door.
After that, I became a Disney kid — full on.
And honestly, that moment at the table…
that was probably the first time my imagination ever felt alive.
