“The Bird, the dirt, and the Details.”

What are your favorite websites?

I love the website ShotDeck, because I’m a movie buff and it dives deep into the kind of details most people miss. You can see everything — what film stock was used, the cinematography style, the color palette, even the camera setups for different scenes. I get lost in it for hours.

Ridley Scott once gave Russell Crowe a note on the first day of filming Gladiator. He actually told him, “Follow the bird. As you follow the bird, it will lead the audience as it flies away into the battlefield in front of you.” And so Russell did it.

Those are the little details that I love — the things that quietly guide emotion and story without most people even noticing. Another example is the moment when Maximus rubs his hands with the dirt of the battlefield. It’s not just a habit; it’s a reminder of his family and his farm — a connection to everything he’s fighting for.

It’s in those small details that I find the most joy, which is why I spend time on sites like ShotDeck and why I collect physical films in general. Movies are windows into stories, and every frame is a lesson if you know how to look.

Another site I love is OrbitDVD. It’s perfect for collectors like me who love physical media. They carry movies from all over the world — stuff you can’t find on Amazon or in local stores. I’ve discovered films there that I didn’t even know existed.

And I’ll be real — I love X (Twitter) because I enjoy a good laugh. I’m a sucker for street chaos, random knockouts, and funny videos in general. It’s like a digital barbershop — wild, loud, and entertaining as hell.

So yeah — those are my go-to sites. Each one feeds a different side of me: the filmmaker, the collector, and the guy who just needs a good laugh after a long day.
