To me, being a kid at heart means removing the seriousness we attach to age.
I’m not saying “age is just a number.” What I mean is — look at the number, and ask:
Do I want to spend my best years being afraid to live,
only to realize later I no longer have the strength to do the things I waited for?
Or would I rather say: If I’m just a speck among many specks — human, animal, earth, and beyond — then what does it matter if I don’t live my life while I can?
When we’re kids, we dream through movies, shows, comics — we imagine adventure, freedom, discovery. We tell ourselves, “When I’m older, I’ll travel there. I’ll do this. I’ll live that life.”
So to me, being a kid at heart means doing that now. Living with curiosity.
If God allows me the time and health, then let me use it fully —
and let me let go of fear while I still can.
